total score

Your first thought when looking at the name of this product might be “yes, of course”. But Garden in Minutes has an appropriate name. It is an easy-to-use, effective raised bed system with a built-in irrigation system that can be adapted to any size in the garden. It is difficult to beat in terms of comfort and ease of installation.

Park in minutes costume

A large box weighing about 43 pounds contains everything you need (except of course soil) to set up a raised bed. All you have to do is add mold – and the equipment includes a table showing how many cubic meters of garden space are needed to fill your raised space.

Kits are available in different sizes and you can easily enlarge the kit yourself. I tried the 4×4 foot square bed, the most popular option.

Park in minutes in the box

The box is sturdy but contains a whole raised bed set, including cedar panels, irrigation system and internet instructions

Four cedar wood panels form the sleeping loft. The 2 x 8 boards (7-3 / 4 inches high and 1-3 / 4 inches thick) are cut to size (but not sanded so be careful of tiles) and have drilled holes in the corners. It comes with metal pins (like large screws) that slide into the pre-drilled holes.

The cedar cards are solid. Check the metal pin on the left side of the sign. The sides simply slide into position.

And the best part of Garden in Minutes equipment? Prefabricated and mostly composite irrigation systems for garden nets in the same container.

Instructions, instructions for planting distances and connections for the irrigation system are in a paper bag that I love. No plastic walkway! The bag also contained a packet of lettuce seeds, perfect for my intended use of the equipment.

Combine a raised yard

I’m not kidding when I say that this is one of the easiest gardening projects I’ve ever done. You simply pack the tables with glued pins and place the first one on the prepared area. The cedar panels used next to the raised bed have cut-outs and holes; You just slide the chin into the hole, straighten the corner and push the pin in. It works just like the old cooler furniture technology.

Garden in Minutes is brilliantly simple for the gardener. Simply lock the corners and slide the pin in.

Continue until you have attached all four sides. It’s really that simple and it only took a few minutes to fully assemble.

It is important to prepare and set up the area first, but this applies to all raised beds that you create or buy. We worked the soil under it because it was too tight. I have grown vegetables that have shallow roots, but if you plant a root plant, large plants or perennial herbs in the garden, the roots will eventually grow deeper than the height of the bed.

Make sure the ground around the bed is evenly leveled before setting up the garden after a few minutes. We level the tables before adding soil. Besides, we did not need any tools at all.

Instructions were easy to follow and included extending the bed if you wish.

The pages were compiled in a short time without tools. We used only a small level.

Installation of the garden irrigation system

The grid irrigation system that comes with the Garden in Minutes set is even more brilliant than a raised bed. The plastic grate in drinking water quality consists of two parts. All you have to do is connect them to the center, twist or tilt the joints for each row and place them in the bed.

A small stripe at the top indicates whether the holes that water your bed face in the direction you want.

Park in a few minutes Water system in the tank

The water system is delivered mostly composite, in two large parts in addition to the supply line.

Once the irrigation system is in place, add the pipe that feeds the system (also included) and connect it to a standard garden hose. It just keeps going.

The equipment includes manual shooting and one water flow valve.

The process is almost too easy to believe and it was immediately successful. The timer is easy to use. Rotate the dial to adjust the total number of minutes. You can add programmable timers at any time, e.g. HydroLogic timer from Melnor

The only control valve (left side) and the manual counter are screwed between the hose and the supply line. It was easy and no sheet

With the one-way water flow valve, you can control the pressure on the concrete grate directly on the raised bed and not on the tap. Depending on your tap water pressure and the diameter of the garden hose you feed the irrigation system with, the valve can be used to repel water from the right drop into a ball into a spray.

It was easy to put everything together and work as planned.

You can adjust the flow rate or turn the tube on each square slightly to adjust how much water some areas of the bed receive.

Fill and grow in the raised bed

The table that came from the Garden in Minutes equipment said that we needed 12 cubic meters for the 4×4 bed we tested. We almost filled it at the top of the pages so it could settle.

After I set up the water network, I planted different types of cabbage and other vegetables in the squares. This is another great feature that allows you to organize and share plants or seeds to get past the trellis and get plenty of water.

Your gardening work is made even easier with the instructions for moving plants that came with the Garden Frame, which tells you how much of the usual vegetables are planted in each field. Although the instructions do not specifically refer to “square gardening”, a 1 x 1 foot grid is perfectly set up for this type of intensive cultivation. I admit I loved the structure and symmetry of the system that makes gardening so easy with a square foot.

Garden fully equipped in a few minutes

Here the whole system is set up and ready to plant in the squares.

The salad grew very well in the Garden in a minute. My only problem was the squirrels that were born on some of my plants. I put some line covers over the bed, which is also easy as you can pinch the fabric right next to the raised bed.

A few weeks later we got an even distribution of salad and other vegetables. The bald spot on the left comes from a hungry rabbit or squirrel. We put metal straps and then dressed the salad.

Special features

I like the square meter shape and the 1.2m profile of the Garden in Minutes system, but if you want a different size or shape, the packages come in various sizes, from 2 feet by 2 feet (or 1 foot by 4 feet) and higher. You can purchase an expansion card to expand or reshape your raised space or to create a tiered system.

The timer makes it very easy to water in the morning (or in fact at any time). Before you go to work, set the timer for the number of minutes that Water should flow and the water turns off after the number of minutes you select. It saves water and money.

The company also sells a few accessories specifically, such as single-sided and double-sided flow valves, timers and short garden hoses to connect water networks to cover larger or stepped beds. Most of these can also be purchased at your garden center or hardware store.

Made in the USAThe founder of Garden in Minutes explains: “Our responsibility extends to almost everything in each case. In rare cases of defects or damage, however, we will immediately send the customer a spare product. „

We have built some raised beds over the years and have seen other people build them from insecure or faded material. It takes a lot of measurement and cutting to build a beautiful raised bed and it does not even involve fixing the sides with screws or joints. Then you need to develop a water system that will cover the plants evenly. Pooh.

This system is so simple. You can literally set it up in a few minutes without the equipment and then enjoy the rest of the evening or weekend. It is dense enough to fit in a small garden (but also comes in larger sizes), contains free seeds (always a plus in my book!) Good).

The equipment is very useful for busy individuals or families who want to grow something of their own food. Unlike pressure-treated or recycled wood, rot-resistant cedar wood does not wash away substances that can contaminate your food.

If you are looking for a way to irrigate your existing garden space evenly, you can purchase the Garden Grid Watering System separately. It is just as easy to install and elevate the bed and works very well to ensure even and adequate coverage of the bed.

I would recommend Garden in Minutes (both the whole set and the irrigation system) for both experienced and inexperienced gardeners. Anyone who wants to grow but has a short time, hates math, does not have many tools (or prefers not to use them), has limited space or just wants to spend more time enjoying the fruits of the “workforce” will enjoy using this product.

The 4 × 4 square meter bed fits perfectly with a self-made raised bed in our garden. It is inconspicuous but plenty of space to grow different vegetables for your family or cut flowers for your home.

Where to buy

You can buy any size or configuration in the yard in minute packs directly from the company or at Amazon (see below). The equipment I tested costs $ 200, which seems expensive at first glance. But consider everything you get for the price. High quality pre-cut planks (and not leftover pieces), the hardware for holding the planks together, irrigation system, final control and manual timer. And no tools required.

Amazon offers Irrigation system of a garden in a variety of versions, including the 4 ‘x 4’ version I tried. The irrigation system alone is worth considering for your garden. It makes watering a 1 square foot vegetable garden (or other type of garden bed) so much easier evenly.
